Ohio Insurance Report Shows Dramatic Decline in Medical Malpractice Claims
This week the Ohio Department of Insurance released its 2012 statistics on malpractice claims. The report shows a more than 50% decline in medical malpractice lawsuits since 2005, largely due to Ohio’s tort reform law.
In 2012 there were 103 defense verdicts and only 15 plaintiff verdicts. As a firm that defends hospitals, doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers, Milligan Pusateri is proud that in 2012 it contributed to the number of defense verdicts in Ohio. And, had no plaintiff verdicts!
